SUMMER PICNIC 2019

New York Albany Tamil Sangam’s Annual Summer Picnic 2019 (கோடை மகிழ்வுலா ) was a great success with a huge turn out. Thank you all for participating in the Picnic and making it a great success. It was fun to watch everybody enjoy with their friends, playing games, singing songs, munching yummy food etc. A a huge shout out to all the volunteers who helped to make this event a great success.

All guests were well fed with delicious sumptuous food varieties: Vegetable Biryani, Panneer Tikka, Chicken Tikka, Pasta, Puliodharai, Curd Rice, Salad. Finished the meal with Neer More (Salt Lassi).
 
Game show by Actor Aari kept everyone engaged and occupied for almost 2 hours. He later showed his short film that was based on respecting and protecting one’s language. This short film was shown in 2019 FetNa event.
 
Started the evening snack break with Konda Kadalai Sundal and Masala Tea while our local talents entertained us with old and new songs with their singing skills.
 
Water melon slices and Kona Ice (shaved Ice) helped kids and adults to stay hydrated on a hot but nice day.
 
Concluded the day with the ever famous Bingo game, indeed it was a highlight in our picnic event with many participants from different age group very carefully striking the numbers on the paper with utmost dedication.
 
Overall it was a fun filled day!
 
We had record RSVP registration for this event with 245 members signing up day before the event. Our sincere thanks to everyone for signing up ahead of time which made it easier for our food team to prepare the right quantity of food & supplies.

Our team is now working on our next mega event Sangamam 2019. As part of that we will be reaching out to you for inputs. Please stay tuned for further details.

As mentioned earlier, this picnic event entry is free for NYATS members & their family. However for Non-members there is a nominal fee of $10 for single & $15 for family.
